Been watching this one on EBay, his price keeps going down, though he says this is his minimum now (and has only been a buy it now auction). I keep thinking about a track car, but I keep talking myself out of it, would be better to just buy one already prepped. So if anyone is looking for what appears to be a really clean and cheap coupe, here is one. The only problem I see is the drivers seat and the lack of info on the T-Belt. But the dash isn't cracked.

Pretty clean looking car, with a bit of TLC this could be a good car.

Hmmmmm, he had it on Craigslist last week for $9900. Thought about another 968 but No records and no LSD.

Yep, that is were he started, then down to 8800, now 7700. Sure is tempting at that price.

Looks like the sun and heat has taken a toll on the interior. I hope it looks better in person. That driver's seat looks like a Buffalo Bill job from "Silence of the Lambs."

I have coupe registry data on this car. It has no options other then black partial leather. It is pretty early in the production schedule, #201 of 2,234.

Throw some new seats in there and it could be a different story. But generally, if it looks mediocre in photos, it will look much worse in person. It is a steal though at 7700.

Seems like it just needs the drivers seat and the steering wheel recovered. The dash isn't even cracked in it, so it can't be that sun baked. The paint looks pretty good on it in the pics. For that money, you could fix the seat, change the T-Belt and pump and still be in it for under that cars value.

"Option codes: C02, 331, 454, 850."

C02 - US Emissions - standard
331 - am/fm cassette - standard
454 - cruise control - standard
850 - actually, that should be 650 and that is the code for sunroof which was standard

It has interior code LT which is partial leather in black, a $668 option on a 1992. P5 grand prix white was a no cost paint option.

There's still 15 days left in the auction -- I'd expect the bid to rise to $8k range and possibly go above his craigslist price of $8800 and make it past $9k. eBay is much better marketing tool for your products than craigslist.

If you're there, why not be the 968 Forums representative? Would really like to hear your take on the actual appearance of this car. Any vehicle selling in Florida would have me worried about flood waters... Reported or not.

Buffalo Bill?? Ouch. How I do love arcane movie references though.

How much would it be to change the timing belt and the water pump?

Thanks

"How much would it be to change the timing belt and the water pump?"

If you do it yourself (which isn't too hard, just somewhat time-consuming), and use a remanufactured pump, anywhere from $200 - $500 in parts, depending on how much you end up having to replace. If you have somebody else do it, they most likely won't allow the use of a reman pump, and, like I said, it's a time-consuming job, so you're probably looking at something in the $1000 - $1200 range, though this may be off, as I don't have any direct experience with having somebody else do it.
