flash, I'm flying in to LAX at 10:30 am, going to try to get out of LA by 3.

Has anyone driven 101 up to San Francisco before? I-5 is such a boring drive.

I don't drive LA <-> SF much any more, but when I used to, my favorite was to take I-5 out of LA (don't take I-101 -- too much traffic to mess with) and half way up, hang a left towards Coalinga (optional minor detour: Harris ranch at the corner of I-5 and Hwy 198 for steaks). From Coalinga, make sure to gas up and head west on Hwy 198, turn right at Hwy 25 to Hollister and join I-101 just south of Gilroy. The southern half is boring, but the part after Coalinga is very enjoyable, and doesn't add much time to your trip.

well, ended up getting everything sorted out last night at around 1 am.

Flew into Burbank today, had a friend pick me up and drive me straight to get the car.

Just got home... what a car.

I found some things that'll need some attention, but that can be taken care.

Ended up taking I-5 the whole way

After the long search, I hope you enjoy the new toy. The more you drive it, the more you will appreceiate it.

That seems about average for these cars on the highway, wait till you step into it and that drops to 10 :)

I've certainly noticed the second tank of gas dropping a bit quicker

I need to go through and do all the fluids now... everytime I park on a hill another fluid that was a bit on the low side trips a light...

oil light went off(was about 1/4 of the way up from the low side of the stick on flat ground) when parked on a hill with the nose pointing up the hill

brake fluid light went off when pointing on a steep downhill

on the bright side, after going through the maintenance records(a book the size of a phone book) some of the things I was planning on replacing were done in the past two years or so...

for example, the clutch hydraulics were all changed in '04, heater valve in '06, etc

Make sure they did the hose for the clutch.
