* "... I'm not sure you could license it south of the border."

I think you are correct. According to what the seller of this CS told me, in the US only after the car is 25 years old!

Not entirely true. A friend has a yellow CS here which he brought over from Europe. Was a real pain to license it, but he did (probably at least 8 years ago now).

So....go for it! It is indeed possible to license these here in the US.

I just sold my house two days ago, but the wife will NOT agree to use some of the funds for a second 968... :whine:

Oh well... at least I will have a proper garage for the 968 as of January (bought the house across the street with a double garage).

I would be interested in knowing if your friend had to modify the car to meet minimum safety/emissions standards or if he just had to go through a lot of paperwork. Also, did he have to limit its use?

Finally sold your house! Congrats on the easiest move ever. Hope the new owner enjoys the 968 lean-to you had and your car enjoys a nice warm and dry space.
Remember when you meet the neighbour to act like you don't know a thing about the previous owner or you'll be feeling guilty about everything he finds for the next 5 years :o

Now, back to our previously hijacked thread.

There are usually several Club Sport and Sport models for sale at any given time in Europe I enjoy looking at them on http://www.pistonhea.../list.asp?s=111
the fact that so many are for sale in Europe highlights exactly what Jeff said about there production numbers.

This one made it into "Bring a Trailer", they have a good review of the car, but it seems they also don't know the car very well.

http://bringatrailer...968-club-sport/

And it is interesting to read the comments on that page from the car guys who are not 968ers.

Roland, I added my 2 cents worth on BAT this morning. Your are correct most of the commentors don't know anything about 968s, probably never even seen one let along drive one.

For Left Hand Drive 968s:

Australian LHD: www.carsales.com/au/used/porsche/968/

Japanese LHD: www.autotraderimports.com

UK's Pistonheads website does turn up some LHD European models from time to time, however they usually have UK RHD vehicles listed. I usually look at this site just because of the number of vehicles for sale at any given time; the other sites do not always have 968s for sale.

I get a kick out of the insults the 968 takes from the ranks of non-968ers, purists and the like. All one needs is a couple of hundred miles driving to realize how nicely the cars handle. Further, while I loved my Marine Blue '88 Carrera, I never received the attention, stares and questions that I do in the 968. The more I drive it, the more I want to drive it....if you know what I mean.

I think most of us would agree with you. It's too cool to watch people drool over your car and ask, "is that the new one?" add the fun that comes with the driving and well enough said!

Not a 100per cent CS. Electric windows instead of manual. Of course you could have specified them as an option ...

Yes, but, as far as I know, the Japanese version always had electic windows.
