Do European models have the clear back up lenses? Or is this another Japanese import? I am leaning towards the latter.

My guess it's imported from Japan...
It has the side turn marker between the front tire and the door, something I have noticed on cars shipped to the Japanese market.

So with 69K kliks...what is that, about 50K miles???
And $30K Canadian... is the US Dollar still worth less than the Canadian dollar?

A different car, but I don't see the value for money...
I like Jeff's a LOT more!!!

Not a 100per cent CS. Electric windows instead of manual. Of course you could have specified them as an option (as well as airbag steering wheel, regular seats, etc), but if you gonna use it mainly for track days, then that's usually considered a drawback. I also agree that this is most likely Japanese import as European versions did have solid red rears without white inserts.

These things are a dime a dozen now, I think everyone should have it as a spare to run to the supermarket and such, eh Jeff :)
Definitely a Japanese tail end.

As I understand it, these were not sold in the US because they do not have the required safety equipment. I have heard that after a speciified number of years, (used to be 15 but in the 80's it was increased to 25 due to the popularity of grey market cars) the car no longer is required to meet the US safety equipment requirements for street use. Anyone have an idea as to whether you could even license these here?

Annoying federal rules here, I had so many problems trying to have my 959 licensed that I ultimately gave up and just gave it to charity. I subsequently heard that Bill Gates bought it from them and not sure he's had any luck federalizing it either.. Sigh, that's why I would not bother bringing a CS here. But seriously, we did see a CS in the 968 parking spots at the Rennsport in Laguna Seca recently, with Canadian license plates, so at least you can drive it here...until you get caught I suppose...

There was one at Rennsport parked in the paddock area. Looks a bit dated but I'm sure the rush of driving it would quickly mke one ignore that it's an "old" car, LOL

Had a look at the 968CS yesterday. First time I had ever seen a CS "in person". Very nice unit!
I spoke with the owner of Euro Sport Imports and he confirmed that he imported it from Japan. It seems to have been mostly garage stored - no signs of cracks or delamination...

The one thing missing are the black "Club Sport" script / decals on the sides. For this unit it was a "factory delete" when ordered.
If a person is going to drive around in a Speed Yellow Club Sport, whay not have the "loud" Club Sport decals?

I dig this car, okay the wheel wheels are a little much, but it looks real clean. A bit pricey and I'm not sure you could license it south of the border.

Part it out to Jeff, one piece at a time

The seats themselves would cover most of the first cost...

* "... I'm not sure you could license it south of the border."

I think you are correct. According to what the seller of this CS told me, in the US only after the car is 25 years old!

The seats are "ubber" cool....

Very nice car but, believe it or not, not that rare. Porsche produced 1,538 968 CSs for ROW! They only produced 2,234 North American 968s in all 4 years of prodution (of which only 10 were speed yellow :) ) I've got only two, easily reversable Mods planned for my coupe.
