I did a search before posting this and I'm still not sure. From what I see on here the only way you could get sport seats from the factory on a 968 was to go with the cloth Porsche "script" seats? Is this the case? Could you get them in leather and if so is that a rare option? -Tom

Not the case. I have leather heated sports seats from the factory - yes they're wonderful

correct - in fact, cloth is VERY rare, and in sport seats even more rare - i think i've only seen 2 or 3 cloth sport seats - all the rest were leather

I have partial leather sport seats. The registry shows 16 coupes with sport seats and no info. on the cabs.

when I was looking for a 968 with sport seats, I was very surprised to learn that there were actually more owners with sports seats looking to exchange them for regular seats than vice versa.. I had expected ( and had heard ..) the sport seats to be one of the most sought after option in the 968 , but of the few folks with whom I exchanged emails and PMs, and who did NOT track their cars, the consistent remark was : for daily driving I'd prefer the non-sport seat

Not to make you feel less special but you looked at the wrong registry. I'm almost finished with the North American coupe registry and I'm up to 133 coupes with sports seats. I am done with the cabs and there 67 with sport seats. You could get sports seats in full leather, partial leather (just the part you sit on), full cloth "script", partial (just the inserts) cloth script, and full and partial multicolor fabric so there were lots of options available. Not many takers though.

You guys are good! Wow. I've been looking around a little and have not seen one for sale with sport seats until I got to this forum. A nice black 1992 showed up on Craigslist today in Seattle. Only 44k miles. No sunroof. Porsche Script Sport seats. Nice car. A lot of money though. You guys know him?

Yes, nice car, unusual story on how the seller got it. It was just left.

I traded my standard for Sport and I wont be going back to standard seats.
I don't understand why some feel they're uncomfortable. The side bolsters hug my wide frame nicely. The seat portion really doesn't feel any harder to me. the back however is a bit stiffer IMO. But this doesn't bother me.

I think my sport seats are great. I never knew what I was missing in my 944 or S2, I though slip sliding around in the seats on a corner was a given; not anymore!
The only problem with them is avoiding the bolsters when you ingress/egress. Mine are almost perfect but there is a bit of rash onthe drivers side. I also have no more buttons on my back pockets as the bolster catches them and eats them. I usually move my seat back to get out and re-adjust after I'm in the car.
