This beats out the last low mileage cab that was for sale on Ebay not to long ago. That car was Black with 14K miles, asking price was higher then this car as well.

nice ! although neither cabs, nor tiptronics, nor red cars in general appeal to me, I must admit, this looks stunning cool.gif

speaking of low mileage, I have to check if my neighbor still has the black cab in his garage - IIRC, that one has less than 5 k miles on it, but it has not been driven at all in the last 7 years ( at least ). he has no intention of selling it though .

I love that color, but alas it is a tip. I keep toying with the idea of getting a higher mileage tip to use as my DD through the stop and go commute, but I like shifting too much, so I sit here with my car in the garage waiting for traffic to clear wasting time with you all.

Jeff I am guessing 1 of 1 in that combo. 92 Coral Red with classic grey/light grey combo and piped seats. Beautiful.

Autocheck is clean, and this one was driven - not a lot but enough to keep the oil circulating. And a CA car. This one is a keeper for the right person.

Rxter, it is better then you think. PCNA only sold 10 cabs in G7 Coral metallic, 5 with black tops and black interiors, 4 with black tops and cashmere and black interior, and only 1 with light gray/classic gray interior (and it happens to have a V1 classic gray top). That car is that one. But it gets better. That car has the light gray/classic gray interior in FULL leather, code TH. This was a $4190 option back in 1992. There were only 30 cabs produced with full leather interiors (out of 2,008) and that car is one of them and the ONLY ONE with the full leather in light gray/classic gray. The car also has dual 8 way full power seats and hi-fi sound with Amps. That is a great one. If only it was a 6 speed.

Jeff, your wealth of information never ceases to amaze. The digital Library of Congress could not compete smile.gif

As for this rare, superb cab, if any of you guys have a major anniversary coming up.. hint, hint .. tips make great bumper to bumper commuters. Seems a pitty to drive it in gridlock though, this is probably the ideal weekend car. Crap, sounds like I'm talking myself into it.. better not let the wife read the Forum .. dry.gif

Not to be a party pooper or anything, but can that mileage really be trusted? I mean that is an average of ~600 miles a year...little more than one tank of gas per year.

I just don't believe it. If it was in a museum or part of a huge collection maybe this mileage is plausible, but it's 968 and tip at that, so not very collectable in my opinion.

Now that I got that out of my system...it is very pretty car and I really like the interior colour.

Looks legit to me, but I have not done a lot of research on this one. All I could say when I saw this was "thank god its a tip" or I would have 2 cars to sell and would be figuring out how to piss away my 401K on this car - pretty much my favorite color combo - now you tell me full leather... Thank god its a tip.

And check out the pictures on the source web site - they are higher resolution and really show off the cars colors.

Dan this one is in your back yard - go take a look.

I just had a look at the other pics and you're right, the car looks very good. Why you want to buy a car and not drive it is beyond my comprehension, but to each his own.

For People who buy cars and don't drive them, it started very early in childhood, with collecting toys and not playing with them. Just kept in the box on a shelf.

Although this is an interesting car, it's gonna need some big maintaince to bring up to snuff. I'd worry about the damper plate due to age and lack of use.

That's exactly what my neighbor has done; bought cars new or when they were just a couple of years old, and storing them - he has two in the garage ( including the 968 ), two in his driveway, always under cover ( one of which is a Ferrari-Fiat ), all with extremely low mileage. The daily drivers are parked on the street. He indicated for the time he just keeps them "on ice" until they become pricey collectors items, and if they don't he'll take that chance. Thus, I'm not at all surprised or question the validity of someone having 20 or 30 year old cars with just a few thousand miles them.. I assume this is indeed rare, but clearly not that strange.

maybe it's the light, but it doesn't look like what i was told was coral red - the color i have seen is a rusty orange, very close to the color that the 350Z had - i almost bought a 92 in very nearly this color - it a "little" more gold in these shots than the color i saw, but not all that much - i've yet to see another like it

You saw a coral red car in person at The 968 Celebration in Newtown. The "Best Coupe" award went to a couple from MA who were original owners.

i remember the car in newtown - it wasn't quite the same color, but again, lighting is everything - it was a cloudy day there then, and when i saw the car here, it was always very sunny - i sure wish i knew where that car ended up so i could see it again - it really was very orange/gold - i made many comments on that at the time, as i did not want a gold car

And what really tells you is the classic gray interior parts which are STILL classic gray in color. If it had been outside for even a little while they'd have classic gray changing to brown, purple, black, ect. (coming from a former classic gray interior car owner).

Agree with Jeff. The leather looks perfect as well. Been my experience that the car NEVER looks as good in person as it does in the pics. You often can't pick up subtle things like some minor discoloration in the photos, particularly if the seller knows how to accentuate the positive, so to speak. But these shots look about as good as they get and I would expect the car to check out in person as close to flawless. Worth every penny to the right person.

I did not pay close attention until I saw the new photos link - the classic and light(er) grey combo looks incredible, IMO
Seats in that color will probably show dirt quicker than classic grey ones would, but still...beautiful. I'm almost tempted to
drive one hour down to Campbell just to look at it up close cool.gif

I think the mileage is legit. This was probably owned by someone who had it as a third or fourth car. I have a couple friends (who make obscene amounts of money) that own A LOT of cars. Even if you drive one car every weekend, they put less than 1000 miles per year on them. My buddy has four 911's and a sl500. Has a honda as a daily driver. All of his cars were bought with under 30k on them and only get about 500 miles per year. Yet he drives them all regularly. Just sayin, its not THAT weird to see a really nice low mileage one. I dont think we have to question whether its for real or not if the autocheck is clean. But WHAT A CAR right! Again, too bad it was tiptronic. That was back when chumps thought its was "cool". Why couldnt all 968's and 928's be stick!
