Bob (a member of the local PCA chapter) has been organizing Saturday morning breakfast drives called "Bob's Breakfast Club" for several years.
We meet up a Starbucks in West Vancouver between 6:00 and 6:30. We leave for a run up the "Sea-to-Sky" Highway. This highway runs between Vancouver to Whistler, which was a vital link for the recent Winter Olympics. This past Saturday there was another 968 Cab besides mine. It is a 1992 with 18K! ohmy.gif At around 8:00 we are back in North Vancouver and go out for breakfast together. This past Saturday there were 44 PORSCHES. This was the second run that I went on and it has been a great opportunity to find out what the 968 was really built for! It sure is a lot "happier" on a curvy highway at higher speeds than "putting" around town. laugh.gif
Later on this evening I will post pictures of some of the cars in the restaurant parking lot.

Yes, I have to (humbly) admit that I live in a "spectacular" area of the world! cool.gif
Maybe you want to give some serious consideration to the PCA ESCAPE 2010 at SunPeaks to be held Sept 9-12, 2010. Although it is a few hours to the east of Vancouver, you could come up to the Vancouver area and then head east for the event. smile.gif

This past Saturday there were ~ 75 cars out for the local Bob's Breakfast Run.
Here is a Youtube clip of the first 50 + cars leaving the parking lot. My 968 is car #24 - I "blinked" the fog lights (good thing I found out about that a little while back!).

Wow! That's a lot of Porsches in one place. Good thing you weren't the guy almost side-swiped by the SUV ;)

I'd love to get to Vancouver too but it's now 165.00 to get there and back! Cheaper to take the train to Hogwarts, at least you get a free wand.

Speaking of Whistler.......

For anybody planning on being in the Seattle or Vancouver area in the later part of August the Canadian West Region of the PCA is planning a Whistler Weekend. The weekend had been an annual event held since the early 80's and sidelined during the run up to the Vancouver Olympics. The drive from Vancouver to Whistler on the Sea to Sky highway is one of the most scenic roads on the west coast. Be advised you will need a passport or an enhansed drivers license to get across the Canadian Border. Whistler is a world class resort with great dining and accomodations. See the link below for more information

I will "second" what Tom has posted!

I am planning to drive up on Friday and stay a night over, but not register for the event.

Thanks for posting this thread, Langley968. Being from 'down under' and never having set foot in either the U.S. or Canada, I had never heard of the Sea to Sky highway and when I googled it, I was blown away by the scenery. After seeing that, I will definitely be visiting the area in the not-too-distant future to check it out first hand. My favourite past time in Oz is driving through the mountains and along the rugged coastline South and West of Sydney (in a Freelander 2 at the moment, but hopefully a Porsche in the near future).
