I will be there looking to score some nice 18" wheels, but probably end up leaving with an order for a new Supercharger haha

lol - that kind of thing happens

my prep continues - gathering things for the trailer

i got to do some quick testing today on the new rear spoiler on the denali - i expected to gain a small amount of fuel economy, but so far, it is showing a whole lot more than expected - very cool! i hope the gains hold up like that while towing

Darryl,
Are you gonna have a pre-Hershey prep day again?

Yes, I've been meaning to get some time to check the calendar. I'm thinking 2 weeks prior as done in the precious years, so I'll create a thread soon with an official announcement/invite.

daily i am finding there are more things i need to do to prepare for this run - it's all getting handled, but considering i've done it before, i am a bit dismayed at how much work there is, particularly on the trailer - when i made the first run, it was empty and absent many of the cool things i want in there - frankly i haven't spent the time to finish it until now, and since i've had it for 2 years, i've had plenty of time to think about it - the shopping list got rather long in that time

the denali is almost ready - just need to install the heat shield and change the oil

the 968 is a whole different matter - there is a LONG list of things to do on that car, and i figure to be on it all day every day for the next 3 to 4 weeks

looks like daryl is going to ride shotgun with me, and we are already making those plans - should make for a much more enjoyable drive

i'd love to see if we can time things so that we could grab a bite or something with people along the way - i figure we will take 40 out through to OKC where we will jump on 44 and head up through ST Louis to 70, and then down to daryl's - let us know if you are along that route or could meet us on that route, and we'll see if we can coordinate that

a day at the barn after that in prep, and off to hershey

miles to go before i sleep

Flash, I will not be travelling to Hershey this year, but would like to get together as you come through Albuquerque on I-40 enroute to OK City. My cell # is: (505) 506-6807 and my home # is: (505) 839-0775. Let me know when you plan to come through, I live about five blocks from I-40. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Well, I usually get up at 06:00, but just for you, Flash, I will get up earlier to have breakfast & shoot the breeze about the 968 projects. Looking forward to seeing you again, good luck, Bob Blackwell.

so, i've been trying to lay out the route, and make gas stop plans and all that - for the life of me though i can't find an easy to use software package that will let me input a start and finish point, and then add stops along the way, giving me mileage as it goes

basically i want to plot gas stations at specific range points (i.e. 200 miles, 450 miles, etc)

i tried trip-tik - no go

can't get the rand mcnally thing to work

other ideas?

1) Use Garmin
2) Look for "E" on fuel gauge, (Should be below "F"), if indicated by the needle you should;
3) On Garmin, select "Points of Interest"
4) Select "Fuel"
5) Pull into the Gas Station indicated
6) Insert nozzle until needle goes from "E" to "F"

Ornery today,

Jay

So my plan @ this years hershey is to try and find a set of Big Reds and/or a set of sport seats or Recaro's.

Jay did somebody steal your Wheaties? In Canada we select "Gas" not "Fuel".

I think Jay should change his screen name to "Saucy J"!

Dino-

I think you need to revise your wishlist....

Shouldn't "Buy mint green coupe" be your #1 priority?!

well, considering there are only 2 out there.......i don't think i will be buying one anytime soon. In the meantime i can have fun getting all the goodies for my current 68...and when a Mint Green Coupe pops up.....it starts all over again. Maybe i'll turn that one into a Turbo S replica...who knows.

Hi Folks,

Just a quick update.

Friday night - April 23, 2010

RS Barn and Design1Racing have generously offered to host a wine and cheese reception.

Confirmng a question from one of our enthusiasts, there is a single $10 fee to join us in the Concours area. Adminssion to the event is free.

I received my first check for dinner this week, this event will close on April 17, 2010.

Rooms are starting to get booked at The Hilton, deadline for rooms price is March 24, please book soon!

Regards,

Jay
