Got a nice email in reply to my Reader's Sales Report to Excellence. Bruce Anderson now lives relatively close to where I attended high school in the Sierra foothills of California - where some of the great roads in America hide.

Here is what he gave me for values for my '93. I assume they are approximately his next 924/944/968 numbers:

"We show the 1993 968 to be running from a low of about $8,225 to $9,350 for one in good condition and $12,525 for an excellent example."

That actually nails my sale. The car was in good, but not excellent condition with average miles (120k) and sold for $10,400. With early Boxsters going for as low as $10k and 996.1 models in the high teens and low twenties, the 968 may actually be holding it's own. I suspect that an excellent '94 or '95 968 is probably worth slightly more than a comparable 98 or 99 Boxster.

His reply also told me what I had suspected about my "new" 996: I stole it! That said, in some ways I miss the 968. Great cars.

a 968 in exellent condition is worth more then an early boxster in excellent condition. However, you can pick up 968's in poor condition for less then a Boxstr in poor condition.

for anyone looking for a Porsche in the 10-15K range, there are a lot of options out there.....early 911's, early Boxsters, 968's, 928 S4's, 912's, pristine 951's, etc, etc.
