Yeah, those Recaros are horrible, you should rip those things out (while I'm in California preferably laugh.gif )

OK - just got off the phone with Fred Opert, who just got these numbers from Strosek.

Front splitter: List price - $690; purchase 1 for $621; purchase 6 for $552; purchase 10 for $497
Side skirts: List price - $1,065; purchase 1 for $959; purchase 6 for $792; purchase 10 for $713

A slight additional bulk purchase discount - 10 or more complete sets (skirts and splitter) for $1,190 per set. All prices include shipping from Europe to a non-NJ location, thereby not incurring NJ sales tax, and the prices are good for an order placed by April 15.

So - let's see what hands go up. Again, I'm willing to facilitate, but I'm not purchasing anything.

I would love to jump on this, however the parts would have to be split up and shipped again. I can get $1451.00 delivered to my local airport from Strosek.

I would have thought the discount might have been greater than that, but hey! Anybody else tempted???

By the way, Anchorman, thanks for the offer of taking care of this.

seems to me that if you guys moved fast enough, you could send them to someplace close to hershey, and then all pick them up while there

While having them shipped to Hershey would be a great idea, I can guarantee you the parts will not be ready for Hershey 2009. I know the splitters are not a stocked item and I doubt the skirts are in stock as well.

Remember the 968 ceased production roughly 15 years ago so keeping such parts in stock is not economically feasible. I waited longer than 6 weeks to get one splitter.

Not trying to rain on the parade, but it will take a bit of time to get the items made, packaged, and shipped.

bio - bummer - didn't know they weren't in stock - that definitely puts the kibosh on that idea

Jim,
Could you post some pics of your splitter?

How is the quality?

Did the make provisions in the lip for screws to pass thru to the bumper cover?

Pat-

See post #28 and on of this thread:

http://www.968forums...p...20&start=20

There are holes in the narrow portion that mounts directly the underside of the bumper, but there are no holes on the underside of the splitter. So I will have to drill them in order to be able to fasten the screws.

Haven't gotten around to doing anythig yet with this.

As for the quality, I think the piece looks well made. Getting it fit up will be the challenge for sure. Probably won't have it installed until later this year.

I'm a little busy right now dealing with a stupid broken door lever (the one INSIDE the door that connects the exterior handle to the interior latch mechanism!)! What a pain!

In my opinion, I think the Strosek and versions like it look really good on lighter colored cars. I think the OEM version looks better on darker cars. On darker cars, the Strosek would not be as visible as it does not stick "out" as far as the OEM.

YMMV

Bump!

Fred Opert called me to find out what he should order. I told him I'd do one more "tickle" to find the level of FIRM, SERIOUS interest in the Strosek parts. At this moment, it looks like the total interest is one splitter for rhude. If that's where it sits, I'll simply provide rhude with the contact information - no need for me to be in the middle.

My attempt to coordinate this will end on Friday, so step up if you're interested.

Not sure what the hold up is. Economy? That is one steal of a price and I'm all about the bargains. I do hope we can get a few more in on this. Perhaps if we take it over to.. dare I say, Rens...

I have no objection to Rens - but I don't frequent there, so if you'd like, take the information I've provided and see what you can generate. I'll split the commission with you. wink.gif
