seeing as friday is my final day in socal i was wondering if you guys thought that the Petersen Museum was worth going to
Or maybe you guys have a better suggestion for a day trip around OC or LA?
the cross country trip begins on saturday and is looking something like this
Long Beach, CA
Grand Canyon, AZ
Gallup, NM
Amarillo, TX
Springfield, MO
Chicago, IL
Cleveland, OH
NJ
Any and all suggestions as far as hotels, motels, roadside attractins, restaurants, sites and sounds are welcome
Pictures will be posted once I get to NJ
Lets hope none of them include a tow truck, smoke, fire, police, crumpled fenders, or impound lots
wish me luck!
Thanks
Joe

Joe, your departure reminds me of a song ...... Except for the mushy parts
L.A. proved too much for the man
So he's leavin' the life he's come to know
He said he's goin' back to find what's left of his world
The world he left behind not so long ago
He's leavin' on that midnight train to Jersey
Said he's goin' back to find the simpler place and time
I'll be with him on that midnight train to Jersey
I'd rather live in his world than live without him in mine
He kept dreamin' that someday he'd be a star
But he sho' found out the hard way that dreams don't always come true
So he's pawned all his hopes and he even sold his own car
Bought a one-way ticket back to the life he once knew
Said he's leavin' on that midnight train to Jersey
Said he's goin' back to find the simpler place and time
I'm gonna be with him on that midnight train to Jersey
I'd rather live in his world than live without him in mine
Oh he's leavin' on the midnight train to Jersey
(Leavin' on the midnight train to Jersey - WOO WOO!! )

I suggest you skip Gallup driving through is enough I would not want to stay there. My suggestion try and make it up to Santa Fe if that is feasible.

dave, wow, thats creepy, who wrote that anyway?
as far as gallup goes, id love to stay in santa fe but we want to spend some time at the grand canyon, meteor crator, and the painted desert and staying in gallup really shortens the day up as far as driving
i dont know, we'll have to see
thanks for the advice

yeah dave, your getting me all choked up, cut it out
maybe thats because im just now realizing that theres no one in NJ thats going to help me fix my car.... when it breaks.... which it will
or maybe there is... (shameless cry for help and acceptance from you east coast guys)
probably the wrong forum for that though...

oh yeah, no museum for me tomorrow
as usual, the amount of unexpected crap that has come up is completely overwhelming
if i get out of this state with my mind, my belongings, my girlfriend and my car in running order it will be a miracle
petersen will have to wait for me to visit...

If you think there's no one in NJ that'll help with your car, you're going to be sadly disappointed. Where in the beautiful Garden State will you be?
