That line is most likely for a phone.  That is a phone mount on the console.  Very common on early to mid 90's Porsches.

Nope my '94 has the 490 stereo option and has those speakers while my '95 has no 490 but does have a $1995 factory phone in it. :)

Just an observation... the park brake lever seems high - that may be an indication of wear or mis-adjustment...

Also, don't over-look changing the fuel filter. And, many cars have the original brake fluid - that should be replaced.

I couldn't do a violet car, but it looks more blue then violet. Check the paint code on the options sticker. White carpet must be a bear to keep clean. Good luck with your search.

I guess it's about time I chimed in here. I found this post right after I closed the deal on this car. Flew out to Boston and drove it back to Detroit over Memorial day. Almost unbelievable the difference ten years makes vs. my old 944.

The car is a custom order - option 09991 : special exclusive build program. The color code is L39U, which I can't find in any of the color charts. It's not as dark as a night blue. I've seen a similar color on much more contemporary cars; it's a pretty close match to a friend's F-series truck which is called Deep Wedgewood Blue. It really looks very nice, especially in daylight. Interior is light grey. Leather is in good shape, the only issue is the wear in the carpet.

The service records are a bit sketchy, but the car has obviously been maintained. Assuming that the belt has been done, I should be good for another 10k, but I'm having it replaced anyway, along with the rollers, waterpump, and the chain tensioner pads.

It is an LSD tranny, but the pinion bearing needs to be replaced. I just talked to my mechanic about it. I'll probably end up having him drop the tranny and send it out to Bobby Hart.

Should have it all sorted out before 944 fest in August <_<

JPK,

L39U is Iris Blue. I just recently confirmed this paint code over the memorial day weekend when I was @ Limerock raceway.

I am collecting 968 coupe data.... VIN, exterior and interior colors, tranny type, and all option codes. Can you send me your data? You have a beautiful color combo. You can send the data to G968@comcast.net.

Thanks,

Graham.
