I have to say I really enjoy doing shows and 968 meets

Not so much for the cars but the folks that come and ask stupid questions are just so entertaining

Stop being Oscar the grouch and have a bit of fun

Agree 968%...the last few events that we organized were almost despite the cars. I have met some of the best people I know in the 968 community, and can count many of you as friends for nearly 15 years.

Are you sure it’s just laziness? Could it be a blood disease like dumbs***itis or gonetoflabosis. Generally there is a good reason for this lackadaisical attitude you’re experiencing. Been to a shaman recently or whatever pass for medical docs in Lala land. Mind you this is the pot calling the kettle black. Oops perhaps it is not pc to use that phrase. For a guy that loudly sings the phrase of his beautiful 968 something seems off.

Nah, no medical condition nor any other deeper reason behind it ; simply one of those been there, done that numerous times so all good things must come to an end , no ? I believe its been ten consecutive annual meets, maybe more.. I cant remember , which IS a medical condition driven by age no doubt . In any case , however many there have been Ive attended every single one of them. At our last Paso Robles dinner I mentioned thats the last event for me, so just sticking to my word ..
Having said that, if the caravan happens to be at some point in the route within, say, a one hour drive from my house , Id love to see the gang again and any new members over a cup of coffe , or a glass of wine , or lunch , or dinner or whatnot . I miss the company , the cars ..not so much - they all look alike to me. ;-) :-)) . ( yikes, maybe that was not a PC comment either ..I could have offended black 968s vs white 968s, vs red 968s vs yellow 968s.. ) I take it back, they dont all look alike but all are equally beautiful .

Where does all the energy come from charging stations? Only old people get the coal reference. What does it mean? Lol

Kaj that is such a great picture.  Looks like a stampede of 968s.  Makes me nervous just looking at it.

That was a cool shot! Getting our cars into that space was a challenge, but we wanted to get the hotel name in the background of the shot.

We had a lot of fun that year, the drive was good, the food was enjoyable, perhaps we should do another Tahoe run and just mix up the hotel and the routes.

Little late to the party, but here are my thoughts:

Re: Pre-95 front engine P-cars: That sounds good to me.  It would mix things up a bit.  The folks are out there.  We may need to figure out how to reach people beyond just this forum once things are nailed down.

Re: location:  I am open to anywhere: Cambria, Tahoe, Oregon, Mammoth/Yosemite. I would just like to keep it a bit cooler than 2018.  That was a bit hot.  I ended up melting a brake pad sensor on the Sunday drive.  Bob and I were out in the parking lot trying to figure out if we could see which one it was.

Are we thinking about the weekend before July 4?  July 4 is a Saturday in 2020.

Porsche Parade will be in Palm Springs in 2020, from June 21-27, so that could influence the date and location.

How about we see who is interested and where they are located, then we can pick a place that is central to those who are most likely to attend. That was how we ended up at Tahoe for the first WCG.

Someone suggested Oregon Wine Country.  Obviously, I'd be able to make that one. ;-)

I suggested Oregon Wine Country. Moved up here last spring and brought my 968 up in November. Some nice driving roads, but it may be wise to invest in a radar detector. I've done some exploring but I prefer not to drive the car in cold days as it is hard to keep heat in the tires and I've already had the back end step out driving on a dry road when the temperature was in the high 30's.

I have to say that I don't miss either the traffic or the congestion that is common in California.

I'm good with Oregon wine country, I haven't been up that way since our daughter graduated from Willamette, it's time for another trip.

Maybe some time in early June before it gets too hot and crowded.

What say you all?

I will be in Europe end of April and through beginning of June so I will have no time to organize this. It's open for a volunteer to put an event together. Did not see much interest earlier in 2019 when I posted.
