For all members who are thinking of making a pilgrimage to Stuttgart in 2014 and in the same time are interested in some European (war)history, do not forget to sync your holiday with some of the events that will remember the fallen at battlefields like Ypres (Ieper) or Paschendaele!
There are about a million ceremonies and other activities planned from 2014 to 2018. Take a look at the website of the Belgian Government (be 14-18.be).
Not to be missed!

Quite unbelievable (and shocking) news: about 2 weeks ago, at the former Belgian WW1 frontline, a farmer 'stumbled' upon a stash of shells. Gas-filled shells.
Today 2 workers died of an explosion also triggered by WW1 ammo.
Until this day, the Belgian deminers collect about 150 tonnes of shells and other Great War ammunitions every year.
Maybe that's not so strange if one considers about 1.5 billion shells were fired in this particular region alone during the war.
