Looks like really nice work - but for only 160 HP, why in the world would you do that?

I wonder how much all that fab work cost... Why not just buy a used 968 motor? It'd probably come out cheaper in the end and would actually be sellable.

The rotary has some very positive traits - low weight and extremely low center of gravity being maybe the most significant, but it also has some big negatives, such as very weak low end torque, and crappy gas mileage, which is why nobody is making them any more, at least not for sale in the US. So, overall, while I admire anyone willing to take on a fabrication project like this, I would give this one a thumbs down.

When I first looked at this, I thought a WRX Subi motor...what a cool idea..sort of. A 160 hp rotary seems strange especially with all the work they did.

I have a rotary with 230ish hp. And it was put in at the factory. Fun and rare etc. The weight balance is great. I'd never do it again.

So you like it, but you wouldn't do it again? What do you not like about it?

This project makes no sense to me. If a Porsche is going to haves carburetor is has to be a bunch of Webers.

I don't understand the "why" in this project, but take a look at some of the other projects this guy has undertaken...some pretty amazing engineering and fabrication.

Something doesn't sit well with me on that craig's list ad. The first 5 pictures seem to grabbed at random from the web, and the last two came straight from the car domain page. Plus there's the cost...

I'd run from that "deal".

They also choose to use pictues of both Coupe and Cabriolet body styles in the ad...

But he'll consider Harley trades. If somebody can find a Harley with a Briggs & Stratton motor it might be an even swap.

Someone bought it, and are trying to resell it for a quick profit. Good luck to them.

Sorry I missed this Cloud. What do I not like about it? Like you said above - no guts, crappy gas mileage, and it burns oil, which fouls everything over time. The car spends a lot of nights in the shop.

So,... to avoid this you bought a 968? :D
