nope - looks pretty iffy. it always does though. you never know until that day. i've had it go both ways, and change at the drop of a hat. pretty annoying.

I guess if it's nasty out Saturday morning, I could just sleep in the hotel room until close to noon. That might be worth the $$ just for that.

We have changed our plans and are driving down Saturday morning IF the weather isn't to bad. Canceled Friday night plans and not taking the Porsche on this one.

TS right now 20 percent chance of rain. I've only been twice but earlier is better for parking. Hot, I assume your coming down 81? What time?

the weather reports are pretty useless in that area that time of year. i have yet to see the report turn out to be what the weather was on that weekend, both good and bad.

Like $248 with all taxes. I was hoping for $89 or less.

Just checked online and the rooms are now $159. So I called and they reduced the rate for me.
$159 is a lot more reasonable. At $250 I was probably going to just cancel.
Looks like crap weather for Friday night, but Saturday should be sunny and upper 50s.

This reminds me of when I got 10th row tickets to see The Rolling Stones in Philly on the day of the show. Amazing how stuff can become available and be cheaper as the event draws closer.

I'm going to try to get up there and check in before the AACA speaker. That event starts at 6 and goes until 10pm. Will everyone be asleep by 10:30pm when I get back to the hotel? I'm going to break into all the 968s looking for updrages to my interior.

IT is only 8-10 minutes away. I will be in the lobby at 5:30. My cell is 703-606-2000.

The Porsche Only Swap Meet, hosted by the Central PA Region, PCA, will be on Saturday, April 20, 2013 in Hershey. More info at www.cpa-pca.org/swap/

The AACA Museum Porsche Style and Design display opened on January 21st and will run through the Swap Meet. On Friday, April 19th, a special Porsche function with guest speaker Karl Ludvigsen, famed author, will be held to kick of the Porsche Swap Meet. More info, and how to purchase tickets for the event, can be found at www.aacamuseum.org

There are currently about 20 rare Porsches on display in the Museum, including a 1994 968 Red Coupe with less than 15,000 miles plus lots of 968 memorabilia. I will be attending the Friday event with Karl Ludvigsen and hope to see many of you there. Otherwise, look forward to seeing you at the Saturday Swap Meet.

Don

Seeing the nice cars on display was a treat. The lecture was a bit of a snoozefest.

I also attended the Karl Ludvigsen presentation on the 356 and found it interesting. Sorry I did not meet up with TSB or Cosimo Friday night - there were 220 attendees for the presentation! I now have an autographed copy of "Porsche Origin of the Species" for my Porsche collection.

Sat Swap Meet - Weather was cool but sunny and no rain. It was great to again see many 968 friends at the event and catch up on each other's lives. We had 2 968ers register and pay $10 for the People's Choice Concours (Bob Piccone and John Emmett - thanks for your donation to the Hershey Children's hospital!). During the event, I saw Cosimo, Jeff C., Raj D., Emmy Lou & Paige T., and Ginger & Charlie S. There were a number of new 968 owners also in attendance. Another great event!

Last night's event was nice, this was my first major Porsche event I've ever attended. The cars on display were awesome, saw a few other 968s in the parking lot but didn't meet any other owners besides Cosimo and TSBeckman. Met some really cool Boxster owners too.

The talk was interesting, learned some new things about the beginnings of Porsche cars. Seeing the only surviving prototype 901 was a treat and some pristine examples of 914s. Drove home last night, not going to the swap meet as I have a business trip tomorrow.

Another Hershey under my belt. The weather was sunny but very windy and cold. Same old stuff at the swap meet. Bought a new "on the rocks glass" for my scotch. Not much 968 stuff there. The ACCA was okay. The lines for the food were way too long. The Porsche cars were great, almost like being back at the museum. The presentation was interesting but didn't go beyond the early years. Met some old friends and some new ones. It rained hard Friday night so my new detail was for naught. Oh well I have a nice coat of wax on for the summer. My car needed a long run after too many small local trips. Fortunately Beckman didn't get his $90 beer.

Amazingly enough on my first attempt at a concours I came in second for our grouping. Thanks to Brian for all the tips, suggestions and advice. It was only a People's Choice and not the real deal but it was still nice for a start! Great weather plus some nice cars. I counted 7 968's.

We made it to the swap meet and I loved it. Especially visiting with old friends and seeing every ones cars. Jeff Coe was there and we talked and looked at many great 968,s. Don- Redbaron- was there and we had some time to visit and catch up on things. As for the swap meet I have to say I didn't think the quality of the offerings were as up to par as in other years I went with a list of 14 things and did not find one thing that was a disappointment but I would go again for the other stuff. Saw a 968 with magenta interior in better shape then mine and with sports seats, mine needs a little work and a ton of money to bring it back to life. I guess my only regret is we took the Benz and not my 968 becasue it was raining when we left NY at 5:00 am. I wanted to enter the concours maybe next year? :EmoticonCar:

Do it. They only view the outside and whatever they can glean by looking inside the car!

Rap (Bob), congratulations on picking up the second place award for the 924, 944, 968 and 928 Category. Sorry we did not connect while you were there. With my knee problem, I took lots of breaks and was not at the Concours full time as usual. I did see your car parked before I left around noon and it looked great. Thanks for your donation to the Children's hospital!
