I seem to recall reading somewhere that the last US spec. 968 built was special order car finished in Summer Yellow.

Chris, the second picture of the 3 Yellow cars I posted is that last Coupe. It is actually COupe number 258 of 259 1995 Models. Last U.S. Spec Coupe (last north American spec Coupe was a Canadian model). It is a color to sample 1 of 1 Summer Yellow. Only Summer Yellow North American car. It is a 1970's shade of Summer Yellow, slightly different shade then the Summer Yellow found on ROW 968's and some U.S Spec 944's. Here are a couple more pics showing the diff btwn Summer Yellow & Speed Yellow. First pic is Summer Yellow, Second and 3rd are Speed Yellow. IIRC there are 8 Speed Yellow Coupes, 10 Speed Yellow Cabs, and 1 Summer Yellow Coupe. There may be other Yellow cars as the color to sample cars don't tell you what the color is. They just have a Color to Sample option Code. Must see the car in person to get the paint code.

If I'm going yellow, I'm going yellow. Summer yellow looks like it's just a Speed Yellow car that has faded and oxidized paint.

I take it you are not a fan of BMW's Dakar Yellow 1 on 95 M3's then, or the Pastel/Flat Yellow found on 1995 Volvo 850 T5-R?

I like Dakar Yellow. I like the new BMW yellow on the Z4 too. I like Ducati yellow. I like Ferrari's Fly Yellow. I don't care much for mustard yellows like the E46 M3 came with. I almost bought a yellow Lotus. Given the choice of yellows, I like brighter. You're not going to get subtle with any shade of yellow, so I figure you might as well be bold.

1995 Dakar Yellow (1) is much closer to Summer Yellow then it is to Speed Yellow. Diff. Strokes for Diff. Folks.
