Plenty of good working cars out there for $7000, they just aren't Porsche's, and certainly aren't 968's!

Not so sure about that. I bet if you look hard enough, you could find someone asking, say, $9K or so for a decent 968, and talk him down to $7K. For some reason, it seems that most of the 968s for sale tend to be really nice ones, but I bet there are some decent, higher mileage ones out there that can be had for $7K. The value of these cars really goes into the ditch once they hit 100K miles.

Not that I've seen up here - in the NorthEast, any 968 under $10,000 is a rat, guaranteed.

Hmmm... I had mine for sale for while, and it's in decent shape, but I was unsuccessful at selling it for $11K. Somebody offered me $7000, but that was lower than I wanted to go. Now, it's in pieces, in the process of being turned into a track car.

I've seen a few for sale in the 7k-8k range. They seem to be okay, not pristine, but nothing like this one. I got mine for a steal (96K mile Tip), but I have to spend some $$ to get caught up on maintenance. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition inside and out.

Wow, $5K (and counting) for that mess? It'll take at least another few grand just to bring the cosmetics up to par. And who knows what the mechanical condition is like? Could be a disaster waiting there. The $15K rule still applies I think.

Agreed. I think the $15K rule is accurate for a car in Kelley Blue book "Good" condition, eg., without significant mechanical, electrical or cosmetic flaws.
I believe when editing your signature, you'll have to select all text with Ctrl+A, then click the "Remove Formatting" button at the upper left, which looks like Posted Image.

You didn't see the earlier post, it was REPAINTED yellow...they should have left it slate gray, that's a way better color IMHO.

Man, I should paint my 93' gp white yellow, and sell it for 20-30k at that rate. I paid 8k for it, 125k, good strong runner, one previous owner. Drivers seat was a little worn, and needed wheel bearings in front, those were the biggest flaws. garage kept AZ car. All belts, and rollers had just been done, and compression was good for the mileage. Its all getting torn out to build the turbo motor.......some day.
