Flash I plan on attending but I think I'm going to have to put the PDR off for now - I've already spent a boatload on the car this month: Rebuilt steering rack and pressure hose, M030 swaybar and bushings, clutch kit from Pete - and I still need to send my front struts out for rebuilding.

"I've already spent a boatload on the car this month: Rebuilt steering rack..."

Austin,

I know this is off topic, but just one quick question - was the rebuilt rack really just $200? Given the amount of work this is, even if you know what you're doing and do it all day long, I find it hard to believe they can make any money at $200/rack. Thanks.

At the time my Autozone rack was $175, it's up to $200 now, but still lifetime warranty..

Cloud - my 'new' rack arrived at my folks' house (my mom is usually always home so I like to send bigger ticket items there) on Monday. Total charge (ordered online), including tax and shipping, from AutoZone was $373.00. I will be refunded $143.00 after I send them back my old rack. Even if they have a guy who can rebuild a rack in an hour, I don't know how they make any money on this deal!

I haven't heard from anyone specifically. I'll be here even if I'm by myself! tamathumper (Alan) will be in town so there'll be at least someone to hold the camera if necessary!

I may have seomthing to work on that I can demo, we can always guinea pig a panel on the parts car or if someone shows up with a specific problem, we can show that process whatever it may be. I'll most likely just let people start asking questions and it'll evolve from there like it did last time.

Being a new Adam's Polishes dealer, I've invited a couple of my local Adam's customers (non-Porsche guys) who may stop by to participate and learn as well.

Any tips/techniques on bringing black paint back from the dead will be appreciated - my car has at least four shades of it going on! See you guys at Flash's.

Darryl,

I'm hoping to get down there. Melva has some scheduling issues with work, so I my just do a one day turn around, if the weather is ok.

Not sure I want to spend the day polishing and then drive 3 hours home in rain :o

Would be nice to meet you 94SilverCab, I hope you can make it. Posted Image

Darryl, I'll be packing light (the airlines want mucho dinero per bag), so within reason what should I bring, considering I don't have a car to shine yet. Posted Image

I heard brief mention of a storm front possible for Friday into Saturday...not exactly sure what that means so we'll keep our eye on things. Rain would sure put a damper (no pun intended) on things, but anyone and everyone is still welcome to at least come by and say "Hi". It is supposed to be rather chilly, so since everyone isn't nuts like me, my guess would be most folks will want to stay away from the hose. Still plenty of tips. tricks, adn info for those interested.

tamathumper...just bring yourself!

I have some family business that will keep me tied up for most of this week, hopefully things will be squared by Sat as a nice detail day at Darryls would be a welcome change.
Should I be able to make it I'll have my flex and few products in tow. I'm interested in this Adams line you speak of as well. Never heard of them but I love trying new products.

Darryl,
Minta and I will definitely be there. Need to know if you'll have our wheels ready, it'll determine which car(s) we bring. We might have a P-car friend or two that is going to try and make it.

Aaron...just got the wheels into primer tonight. I hope to shoot base coat during the day on Friday, so they won't be ready for pickup on 4/2 but you'll certainly have them in plenty of time for Hershey!! You'll definitely get to see them...they look fantastic already! See you this weekend.

Weather looks like it's going to cooperate now, so looking forward to a good day from the East Coast Side of things. Because I haven't really prepared anything specific for this event due my hectic schedule over the last couple of weeks, I'm going to let the attendees dictate the flow and I'll answer questions and have "show and tell" for either coast, whoever wants to throw something out. I'm sure it'll be fun none the less. We'll also have a prospective new owner, tamatumper, to educate and welcome to the fold, so the more the merrier.

ramius - what color is your car? Looks like magenta or cassis but in the avatar it's hard to tell exactly.
