Unique color and interior. Check out the headlight conversion.

Not much info on the link, but at that price, could be a great opportunity for someone.

This has been for sale for a long time at $21,900. http://www.anamera.c..._cache=1&ret=63 If the new offer you supplied is real, it will make a nice deal for someone who likes purple and lambo doors. The lesson here is...... get a prenup.

Two doors down, a neighbor painted her entire home interior purple. It's been on the market about as long as this purple cab...But I am sure that there is at least one person for each who would just have to have it. Good luck.

Just noticed that the carfax report has it listed as a '93 versus the advertised '94. Also, the listing you mentioned for $21k has an extra digit in the vin code.

Either way, if I were local I'd have to check it out. Given the condition, it's seems well worth the price (even for just parts alone, but you could never part a car out in that pristine condition).

I'd love to own it at the $6800 price, not sure how often I'd stomach getting it out of the garage (the color reallllly screams look at me....just not for all the right reasons). I could live with the exterior color, the interior is more difficult to get accustomed

When I was looking for my 968 Cab, I saw this one on the net. I went as far as contacting an auto upholstery shop to price a dye job to de-purple the interior a bit. While talking to the guy on the phone I gave him the URL to look it up on his computer. He had quite the comical reaction when he saw it. Due to California environmental laws, he told me there is no legal dye that could effectively cover up the purple and not wear off in spots that got high use. I then thought about the 19" wheels and that low front air dam (good luck when encountering any pothole , curb, or parking barrier) and passed. Of course at $6800 one could afford to rip out the interior and do it custom, get smaller wheels, and remove the dam. I'm not wild about the Lambo doors, but the seller told me they can also function like regular doors. I guess they are useful in a tight parking spot, but, then again, I never park my 968 in tight spots where the guy next to me will hit my door with his when he gets in his car. Of course if you're trying to impress the old hippie lady down the block .... lol!

i've seen this car in person - you have to really want all that bling

the 19" wheels would have to go - the ride would be horrible
the 993 lights stick up above the fender line and are at the wrong angle for a good beam - bugs me - may not bug anybody else
the stereo system makes the storage areas ineffective

but if you're looking for unique and visually loud, this is it

This car was at the 968Celebration in Newtown in 2006. Jeff, the owner at the time spared no expense in building this car (I'm sure Flash would disagree with me, but no sane person would  ). It is definately a car for a person with particular tastes, but it was cool to see how someone could modify the "staid" lines of a Porsche.

Jay

lol - he definitely spent a ton of money - with the glaring exception of the misalignment of the headlights, the entire job looked well done - not my cup of tea, but i can respect the work

what makes you say it might be bogus? the car exists - i know it did come out here at one point - not much to check out - the price listed is low, but that car has had a hard time selling every time it's gone up

a simple email to them would confirm that though

Let us know what you find out.
While I hate scams, and would love to see someone from this board get a great deal, I would be somewhat relieved to know that a car in that condition would not drop in price that much and go so cheap.

I, too, have seen the car. A bit off the wall but was in really good shape and the guy had really put a lot into it. He also owned a Noble if I remember correctly. I wouldn't dump all over it just because you don't like it - the guy that built it liked it a lot.

I showed the pictures to my daughters and their reaction was: "That's a Barbie doll 968". I guess it reminds them of the purple Prowler they had a few years back for their Barbie!
The exterior does not look that bad. If it only had a black top and at least partial black interior it would be tolerable. Then again... the mileage... and price...

maybe got divorced because of the car??? That price can't be right. I love that car - too loud for me but in a voyeuristic way I've always admired that one. Bob I might be driving north this weekend.

:lol::lol:

I kinda like the purple 68 as well. Change the intr and top to black and its a nice unique ride. So what kind of engine mods was done to it? I also took note of the steel coolant tank. Many of you seen this car, who's seen/ heard it run?

I contacted the seller about seeing the car. Below is the response:

Hi, The car is in perfect running condition, interior is clean and
maintained without any scratches or stains. Engine is in top condition
and transmission shifts as is should. Very well maintained. Never been
in an accident.

I am a stewardess and I don't have very much time for communications. I
have tones of emails so if you are interested please reply asap so we
can organize the deal.

I want to move to Japan and this is the main reason for selling the car.
My name is Vanessa Garner so when you reply please give me your details
as well so I can send you the car for inspection(on my expense).

Please contact me on the email from the attach (I've sent you a picture).

Thanks
