I can't read the ad, but I certainly can understand the asking price...109,000 Euros. One can buy a lot of stock 968s for that amount! However...Flash, maybe this is the one you should have!

I had a look at this car a week or so ago, but I am very confused by it. It has an airbag wheel and manual window winders, no clock like a CS and also a Turbo RS scoop in the bonnet.

I don't know the specs for the Turbo S that well, but this car's combination of options just seem strange to me unsure.gif

lol - i looked long and hard at that - nice car for sure, and if i were to buy a hard top, this would probably be it (assuming the numbers were correct and it was a real turbo s)

as for the odd features, those cars were special order through a different division, so you could easily see odd combinations

The scoop is not original (and has to go as far as I’m concerned). The rest probably is. The window winders and gear lever should have been aluminium coloured. Most original Turbo S cars I've seen had airbags as well. Don't know about the clock though.

I've got a original Turbo S road test by the Dutch Autovisie magazine. I'll try to find it...

the turbo s was supposed to start with a cs interior and go from there, though the airbags were standard

i've seen a few Turbo S cars for sale in the last couple of years, they all had an Airbag steering wheel. I do believe this car is a genuine Turbo S. The dealership selling it sold another Turbo S not too long ago (a purple car) as well as the Black Turbo RS around the same time. They also stock tons of other rare german cars. When they were selling the Turbo RS, they had for sale a BMW 2002 Turbo as well as a BMW E30 M3 Sport Evo.

Some subtle differences:

- The CS has 944 door cards while the Turbo S has 968 door cards.
- The Turbo S has a (very nice!) embroidered 'Turbo S' logo on the rear seat cover.
- Turbo S has aluminium coloured window winders and shift pattern

Who knows more?

Great cars.

No sunroof = approx. -80lbs. from the worst place to carry extra the weight.

I've read that the chassis is actually stiffer if you have a sunroof. The sunroof cars have 2 extra beams in the roof that are not present in cars without a sunroof.

Everyone here knows just how much I think of the 968 and still feel that it may be the best car on the road
for the money ( looks, power, handling, etc.. ) and at even at more than double its typical market value.. but $ 160,000 for a Turbo S ?! You'd have to be on drugs. Show of hands - how many here would take the 968 Turbo S over a Ford GT ? Over a low mileage '05-ish Ferrari F 430 ? Over two low mileage Ferrari 355s ? Over a new Audi R 8 ? And the list goes on.. Sure you get the exclusivity, but unless you buy it strictly to keep it for show and hoping it will be a real classic some day, IMHO that's at best a $ 75k car.. if that. dry.gif
