{968 Forums Lurker},

We realize that not everyone visits this site regularly, and wanted to make sure we did not delete anyone who really wanted to be here.

In an ongoing effort to clean up old registrations, delete spammers, and update the membership database, we are clearing out unused memberships. We will be deleting all Lurkers at Midnight Pacific time on August 31, 2009. You should have received an email because you had never posted on the board, and/or have not visited in a while, and may not be aware of recent changes.

Unlike how it might have been when you signed up, as a Lurker, you now have extremely limited access. To gain access, you will need to post in the Introductions section, and tell us a little about yourself. That post will be reviewed by the Moderator, and then posted. Once posted, you will begin to gain access to different areas of the site. This access will increase with participation. You can read more about this in the Tutorial.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

We hope to see you back on the board soon.

Another round of House Cleaning has been done. We have been deleting "Lurkers" a block at a time, on a month by month basis. "Lurkers" are members who have never posted. We have been sifting through these, looking at last activity dates (last date logged on) and deleting those who have not logged on in a while.

We have now cleared out all Lurkers who have not been on the board in the last 60 days. Since Lurkers do not have access to much of anything on the board, it is clear that these people are either spammers, duplicates, or people not interested in being members.

If you have never posted (and you can tell because it has a post count and Member level in your profile), you need to do so in the Introductions area, telling us where you are from and hopefully something about yourself or your 968.

New members are allowed 30 days in which to post an Introduction. This is now indicated in an email they receive as well. If they do not post in that time, the registration is deleted.

This does not mean you need to post every 30 days. There is no further requirement to retain membership. This does not affect any member who already has posted. This only affects Lurkers.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but this diligence is exactly what keeps us clear of the nonsense you see on other sites. We appreciate your understanding and hope to continue to provide the absolutely best source in the world for all things 968.
