I was asking the same question. I have been googling this for some time now and haven't come up with anything.
Only seeing a bunch of Pontiac Catalina rebuilds.
Does anyone know where these rear seat conversions are done? if at all.

I believe there are a couple threads here about putting seats in the cabs and vice-versa...taking seats out and putting in storage boxes, so I think it would be just a matter of buying some seats and belts from a cab and dropping them in your car. Just a guess...I like my storage cubbies!

All canadian North american 968 cabs had the rear seats as did the euro spec cars. US 944 cabs had them as well. If you can find one in a junk yard you could find the rear seat.
I've done the rear seat conversion twice. fairly simple. There are two outside bolts to remove and a small bracket to the rear with a small nut. Remove all and the cubbie unit comes right out. There are nice carpets found under the carpet which are fine for seating areas. To convert your rear area you will need a set of lap belts from a 944. Don't forget the bolts, you'll need those. The exterior belt uses the same floor nuts that held the bolt for the cubbie unit. For the inboard belts you'll have to use a nail to find the nut behind the carpet and poke a hole through it. Then install the inboard belts. Finally, you'll have to deal with that rear bracket by either basing it down or cutting it out. Then glue a small piece of carpet from the back of the cubbie unit to cover the area where the bracket was. then you are ready to go. The carpets work just fine. You don't have to add the seats.
Also, keep in mind, it is only a lap belt for your rear passengers but it is just as safe as giving them a ride in the back of a US 944 cab.
And, I have heard that the 94.5-95 cabs do not have the inboard belt mounting nut as part of the floor so you would have to add something.
Here are mine from my last cab:

note: the bolts are 7/16-20 - that's right - SAE
if you are careful, you can bend that bracket down and then pull the carpet over it to hide it, and not have to add any carpet there
another note: without shoulder harnesses, which cannot be added safely, the rear seats may not pass your state's seat belt laws - check your laws to find out
and another note: it is almost certainly NOT safe to run a child seat in the back in a cab
not sure about all canadian cars coming with the seats, but it was at least common - i've seen a couple of canadian cabs now with the boxes, and as i remember, the rear brackets were there - so, unless they were welded in...........not sure how they documented it though, or what was the "standard" model, especially since it varied from year to year - either ours should all show option 419 (rear luggage compartment in place of rear seats, which i suppose could also include the seat belt delete and added brackets), or theirs either 185 or 186 (2 point seat belts), and definitely 113 (canada version, which i suppose could wrap up any other codes as a package) - but that wouldn't account for ROW coding, or any canadian 95 cabs, which would have had ot have the seat belt holes added
rather odd either way

So I wonder if this car can still legally use the carpool-lane with only two people (for those of you outside NorCal, carpool here requires 3+ person unless you're in a two-person car). I thought the in order for your car to be considered a 'two-person car', it had to come that from the factory.

modifications to a car do not negate or supercede the legal requirements of the car
from a legal perspective, whether or not the car came with rear seats does not dictate what it currently has - if a car has seats, it must have legally compliant seatbelts, based upon the laws of the state in which it is registered - the occupants of those seats must also fall within the legal limitations of that state

I looked at bringing a canadian 4 seat 968 cab into the US. Here in CT all they cared about was VIN verification. No speedo change needed either. So, if i was visiting CA I could have driven legally in that carpool lane for sure.

The dumbest social engineering experiment ever conceived takes yet another evil twist. Anyone remember the bus-only lanes in big stinky East coast cities? Those? I wanted to stay out of those for a reason.

Sorry for the threadjacking there, HOV lanes just make me nuts...
