I talked to our manager at Rancho Caymus Inn in Rutherford yesterday. He said he would give me a rate for the 968Forums group of 150.00 per night. He plans on setting aside 22 rooms for the event. For those of you familiar w/ prices in Napa Valley - That is about 1/2 the normal rate that we charge. I am looking at Friday, June 13th - Sunday June 15th. (2014) Matt said if people from the group wanted to stay additional days, he would still honor that same price. I'll figure out the details w/ a follow up e-mail. I guess I would just say the first 22 folks that commit, then I could suggest some alternate accommodations if there are more people. The Inn books very quickly, so even though it's a year away, people would need to book early for Matt to keep the rooms open. There is no penalty if given a 30 day cancellation notice however. Link is here: www.ranchocaymus.com Don't do anything until I put everything together, but in the meantime, give some thought to how long you would want to stay etc... It would be much like the Paso schedule - Meet & Greet Friday late afternoon / early evening. Fun Run Sat morning - Lunch, Wine tasting/tours, then catered dinner at the winery that night. I will have our hospitality dept put some info together regarding other activities and spas etc....... Again, this is for next year (2014).

Just noticed on those dates, that might be the week before Porsche Parade, which is currently Monterey in 2014. No hard dates that I know of yet, but given this years date, it will probably be the last week in June. I was planning on heading out for that, so that might put a wrench into the plans.

You couldn't have called it better or worse depending on your outlook. The Hyatt Regency parking lot in Monterey will be full of Porsches that week.

Ya, if we can get the dates of Parade and set this event to the weekend leading up to it, that would work out well. Usually Sunday is the first day of parade and registration, so those attending would just head down to Monterey on Sunday morning.

Might be good to have all the constabulary focused on Monterey while we're elsewhere. :)

To clarify, the Monterey Porsche Parade is currently scheduled for the week of June 14th through the 21st, 2014.
at the Hyatt Regency. This could change but I doubt it. Assuming it follows past Parades Sunday will be for registration etc. That means an event could be scheduled in Sonoma for the Friday/Saturday with plenty of time to drive down to Monterey on Sunday morning as long as you don't drive through Oakland with a radar detector on your windshield. I, for one, would be more inclined to attend both events tied together than make two separate 2,000 mile round trips.

Ya, if that is the official date of Parade then it will work out very well. I might even drive out for this one, though probably not in the 968 cab, probably the 928.

Just got back from LA, we extended our wine tasting to Santa Barbara and then chilled out in Manhatten Beach for a couple of days. That said, we are so in!!!

I'll post more in the Paso Thread, but we had a great time with everyone and can't wait to see you all again.

Combining next years 968 event in the Napa region with the Parade sounds like a great idea...
however the Brazil World Cup 2014 is happening at the SAME time (June 12th - July 13th)! I am making plans to go there for the entire month.
If I find a place to park my 968 in Cali for several weeks, I could drive down, participate in the 968 even, check out the Parade buzz, then fly out of LAX to Brazil, return to LAX several weeks later and drive back up to BC.
WOW!
No small dreamer here!

Maybe somebody up in NorCal has a spot to park it, and fly out of SFO.

I have a house about 15 minutes from LAX. I bet we could figure something out. I also have a house in Sacramento, if you did not want to drive the additional 380 miles South.

Ryker, better yet, let Jake park there and rent him a VW van to drive to Brazil! That would be a fitting way to arrive for a football tourney. Just make sure you give him one with 2 working doors :P

Haha! Yeah DaveN, think he would stand out driving my latest van through Central America? It's a '90, so same era as our cars. I can't guarantee all the doors will keep working, or that he would not lose a head gasket in Colombia.

O.K. It's confirmed the dates for the 2014 Parade are June 15th through June 23rd. The reason for ending on Monday is probably a D/E day at Laguna.

Ok, I apologize profusely. However, something just came up that will prevent me from hosting the Napa Valley Fun Run. Our national sales mgr had some major surgery and will be out for up to a year. That being said, I have to pick up a lot of his travel commitments in addition to my regular winery duties. Sorry about this all.
