[QUOTE]Since my cab is going to stay in the stable for awhile - I am definately going to go cruise the Dragon this Spring. Anyone up for making it a local event one weekend. Giving lots of time to see if we can pull it together.
Many of you have read the strings and gone to the link showing some of the 318 curves in 11 miles. Starts at the Tennessee / North Carolina line on HWY 129 (South/South West of Knoxville)
Closest lodging is small camping or small motel (6-8 rooms) at mouth of the Dragon, Fontana Village, Robbinsville, Maryville, etc.

I wish this was a little closer to where I am. Maybe after I retire...

Larry - best I remember this is about a 12 hour drive from Southern NJ.
To all - there is a Spring Rod Run in Pegion Forge that is always interesting. This is about 40 minutes from the Dragon. Might be fun to tie a run through the dragon with looking at high dollar customs. Foothills Parkway and other senic routes will be open around that time too (including Blue Ridge Pwy).
Run for March 7th looks like it is off - hope it works for some later in the Spring. Would like to see some other 968's.

Just confirmed the Spring Rod Run is April 16 & 17. Would the 18th time frame work for the Dragon for anyone.

I am going to be in TN the weekend of April 16th & 17th. Anyone interested in getting together on the 15th or 18th. Spring Rod Run is in Pigeon Forge on that weekend. Lots of neat things to look at.
