Taking the 968 targa out much more often now ..
#1

Yes, the 968 coupe is arguably even more of a “targa” than the  911 Targa ; when you remove that massive roof, there is less metal frame left over on the top than the 911 targa’s (  deeper-in ) frame at the rear, but we do have the sides strips which are fairly narrow, although it provides more  structure rigidity. . Either way, the 968 has a larger opening no matter what ..to the naked eye .   “Flash”  (  a 4 minute walk between our houses neighbor now ) has a  Targa , and to me the 968 with the top removed looks to have a significantly larger opening.

That aside, I’ve been taking the 968 out on several coastal drives ( on PCH ) lately, without the roof on it.   Very enjoyable !   I typically have the AC on all the time, that’s why I drove with the roof on all these years , having removed it probably no more than five times or so .. I hate sun and hot weather .  But right on the edge of the ocean it hardly ever gets above  low to mid-70s before noon , or after 5 pm, so with the added breeze from an open top and windows down, it makes for a very pleasant drive .. FWIW, the AC works with to “top” down, too.  When I lived in Las Vegas, it made driving the cab in 110° tolerable.

I went for a pleasant drive up to Sundance yesterday.

ps: How about a pic withe the “top removed?” I search the internet but I had to stop and go wash out my eyes after I saw this:

Yeah, but it’s pretty much useless once the cold air just blows on you but immediately dissipates . I usually like my cabin at meat locker temps .  Huh

Nope, not in San Carlos, he came back from Ireland almost three years ago and moved back to SoCal.  We moved to SoCal about a year ago, and it just so happened the house that we liked the best was in the same development where Bob lives.  He scouted a lot of houses for us for a whole year before we moved, and from those we identified three or four in Orange County which we came down to see, and choose this one in San Juan Capistrano, where we plan to live the rest of our golden years .

True, but like I said, a cool breeze really takes the edge off 110°.

But I’m just the opposite. I don’t mind the heat and can’t stand overly refrigerated places.

Interesting mod.   Reminds me of the converted E-Type Jaguar Hearse from “Harold & Maude”.
