No need for a trailer. I'll just ride through hedges and flowerbeds, at max speed of 5.25mph. Cuts in reverse, too. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

Glad I'm not your neighbour!

Using this new Ariens 46' Hydrostatic tractor to cut and catch the clippings. Only drawback - does not cut in reverse.... I used to walk behind a 21" mower and have to say it's the best money I have ever spent on anything for the yard. Time is cut down to a third of what it used to be and I don't feel like a wrung out dish rag when I'm done.

I'm out. We have a small lawn as most of it is plants (wife is a big gardener). So this year she hired an older guy (about my age) to do the mowing for a grand total of $14. What a bargin. I hated mowing the grass.

We back on this? Ugh - Got out the rental back to the joys, ehem, of home "ownership". Wife cuts the grass now - I hate grass, mostly because I am tired of listening to the endless drone of small gas engines. Let grow what grows. Yes I propose that we all live in the weeds....

BTW I've not been driving the 968 recently due to a lot of travel and stuff with other cars that's needed attention. Finally got to drive it to work today - god I love that car. With the SC it's just like butter on a hot day - fast and slippery.

Mowing the lawn may be fun with that Ariens tractor, nice looking vehicle. And when you're done you can just keep driving it over to the liquor store a couple miles down the road to treat yourself to a job well done, LOL, just like that country music star ( not a fan of country music so not sure if it was George Jones, or Conway Twitty, or someone else ) whose wife got tired of his drinking and took away all his bottles as well as the car keys so he cannot drive to the store.. He used the lawn mower and rode it all the way for a good country mile to buy his liquor. Became a living legend after that. Even though I don't know him, you just gotta love that guy !!

rxter, butter on a hot day. Man you should be a writer for some ad agency! Cigars, wine and porn come to mind. lol. One can't help but love the sc. I called Flash and told him it was totally amusing to watch grown men just fawn over the sc at Pocono last weekend. In fact, at 4 events so far the response has been the same. ohhs and ahhhs and lots of questions. Boys with toys! Me included!! lol

I have a Kubota tractor with a 60 inch deck. It is a 26 HP diesel.

It is great. I have 2.5 acres and with the 42 in Craftsman I was left with when we bought the property it took 2 days. I can now be done in less than 2 hours. It also has a back blade and a front bucket which is totally wicked and they both come off for mowing. The only problem was it cost more than my 968! Much more that I am still paying it off - lol!

Yea it takes the chore out if it. Florida lawns in the country are not much to write home about. As long as it is growing and looks reasonably green, I don't stress if it is actually grass or not. I wanted the tractor and at 17K I have to use it or the spousal unit starts to wonder why we bought it - lol. In Florida after a few days of good rain, you can stand in the yard and see the stuff growing - lol
I have 2.5 acres...33;
Sigh.. If I could afford 2 .5 acres around here, I'd be wealthy enough to have a fleet of lawn mowers, each with their chauffeurs :-) :-) ( there was a 0.24 acre empy lot up for sale a few months ago for

$ 650 K . and without a view ..except of the neighbor's house ) So unless Kate Upton is your neighbor it's a bit expensive for just a tiny strip ( not Kate's..) of land.

It was pricey. If I could have bought more I would have, but the boom was just barely starting to end. In PA, beofre we moved, I was looking at 10 acres, for 150K less than I ended up paying for 2.5. Oh well, you know what they say, location, location, location. I guess sunshine ain't free - lol
